for ariel

我們依然不間斷的to share our experience and thoguhts

this is what friends for, isn't it?

every morning, i always got a message from my dear ariel in HK...

Good morning, nanny..

just like we are still in the same city, working on the same proejct and this really just make my day happy

more than a year since,

but i really enjoy the every conversation with her ....with very pure and simple heart...

what a pleasure to have a company like this

ariel, my little girl,

dear little girl, you really grow up...and i am so pround of you

a new yr is going to began

wish we all can keep our fresh and simple heart forever~~

悼arthur...I will remember you forever.

another interesting piece...

i wish i did thought about that before....

this is so amazoning

push button house

for today...an interesting project
it's called puch button house
project detail:
time: can't find yet...
designer: Adam Kalkin
concept from: the shipping container...
the orginal archive :
Shipping container prefab houses certainly aren't anything new (we featured them some time ago, here) but the latest incarnation from architect/artist Adam Kalkin is pretty darn slick, so we had to mention it. The Push Button House is exactly that: it starts as a shipping container until a button is pushed, and it turns into a house. Motorized walls unfold like a flower, revealing a fully functional house, complete with refined, understated furnishings. Kalkin is unveiling the house (in more ways than one) at Art Basel Miami Beach, a renowned art show that started yesterday and runs through the weekend. Fitting that the house's debut is at an art show; Kalkin fancies himself a fusion of artist and architect: "I'm not into the container per se. It's what I can do with it emotionally; transforming a commodity into poetry." No word yet on pricing or production schedules; his Quik House will go into production next month and will be priced between US $150,000 and $175,000.

2006 March

Jay, Mei-mei and Ming...
(London-->Berlin-->Hannover-->Berlin/ Berlin-->Hannover-->Berlin-->London)

1. Meimei's final project: Tea party
2. Ming: EPS traveler
3. Jay: theme with chair
4. Cebit
5. Concept of narrative

Hannover...

Theory of貢丸

Are we ready ?…go

extra..about CeBIT

narrative...

narrative...

narrative...narrative...i just fall in love with you again...
//敘述環境/經驗設計/total design/建築/景觀/裝置藝術/平面/廣告/策展/產品/互動式設計 etc...

how to improve it?

maybe it's time to continute develop

//my brief: EPS

This project proposes a wayfinding system designed for the independent traveller. EPS (Experience Positioning System) is based on the traveller's personal emotional experiences of time and space. It uses information about past experiences and hopes and fears for the future to suggest a personal route through a city. The jacket maps out the possible routes and gives an advanced sense of mood in space by either stretching or tensing the fabric against the body.

about tate...

tate體系下 共有tate modern/ tate britain/tate liverpool/tate st.ives and also tate online.

when can i revisiting?

tate gallery

只能大喊...internet I love U...

2000Louise Bourgeois — Maman, I Do, I Undo, I Redo

2001Juan Muñoz — Double Bind

2002Anish Kapoor — Marsyas

2003Olafur Eliasson — The Weather Project

2004Bruce Nauman — Raw Materials

2005Rachel Whiteread — Embankment

2006Carsten HöllerTest Site

2007Doris SalcedoShibboleth

2007-Shibboleth-tate modern London

shame on me...

3. in what standard to pick the artist and their work to exhibit in tate
4. what's general public's reaction?
5. the relationship between artist/ artwork/exhibition space?

//1550 chairs by Doris Salcedo, Exhibited in the Istanbul biennale, 2003.

about the artist:

Doris Salcedo

*born in 1958 in Bogotá, Colombia
*she is a sculptor
*Ed bg:
(BA)Fine Arts Universidad Nacional de Colombia
(MFA) New York University.

*influence or idea inspired from : her experiences of life in Colombia, and is generally composed of items of furniture.

designer/artist:Doris Salcedo
title:shibboleth
dimension: a 167 -meter long crach

content:

This 167-metre-long crack in the hall's floor that Salcedo says "represents borders, the experience of immigrants, the experience of segregation, the experience of racial hatred. It is the experience of a Third World person coming into the heart of Europe."

press release:

About Doris Salcedo’s Shibboleth is the first work to intervene directly in the fabric of the Turbine Hall. Rather than fill this iconic space with a conventional sculpture or installation, Salcedo has created a subterranean chasm that stretches the length of the Turbine Hall. The concrete walls of the crevice are ruptured by a steel mesh fence, creating a tension between these elements that resist yet depend on one another. By making the floor the principal focus of her project, Salcedo dramatically shifts our perception of the Turbine Hall’s architecture, subtly subverting its claims to monumentality and grandeur. Shibboleth asks questions about the interaction of sculpture and space, about architecture and the values it enshrines, and about the shaky ideological foundations on which Western notions of modernity are built.
In particular, Salcedo is addressing a long legacy of racism and colonialism that underlies the modern world. A ‘shibboleth’ is a custom, phrase or use of language that acts as a test of belonging to a particular social group or class. By definition, it is used to exclude those deemed unsuitable to join this group.
‘The history of racism’, Salcedo writes, ‘runs parallel to the history of modernity, and is its untold dark side’. For hundreds of years, Western ideas of progress and prosperity have been underpinned by colonial exploitation and the withdrawal of basic rights from others. Our own time, Salcedo is keen to remind us, remains defined by the existence of a huge socially excluded underclass, in Western as well as post-colonial societies. In breaking open the floor of the museum, Salcedo is exposing a fracture in modernity itself. Her work encourages us to confront uncomfortable truths about our history and about ourselves with absolute candidness, and without self-deception.

Bridge-by Michael Cross

Bridge...what a wonderful name for this wonderful project.

Challenge your fear and the physical balance.I was very surprised by this art piece. It reminds me a lot to another project done by Richard Wilson 2050 . I love this art piece very very much and also I still can't forget the small from the recycle oil. That's un-forgettable.I like this artpiece too. It is because it brings back my memory of the Richard's and also it challenge myself as a visitor. It created a very special relationship and communication between the art piece and me. Do I believe the safety issue and also do i believe myself or not? As you walk through the piece, you need to control your balance and the central weight too. It's hard and also the illusion from the space and water.....that's really realy scared. However , when you finished the 'walk' , you will realize that how worth it is. It is a very very nice art piece. I woule like to see this project in a open space with more complicated design. While I was walking on the steps, i also had a chat with the artist itself. He said that he have been to Taipei and also did a workshop there with an architecture school. I wonder which one will it be. They are so lucky to have this talent artist. He is definited somebody not like me , just a nobody.I am very galde that before I back to Asia, I can have this wonderful experience.

Strasbourg

a city called Strasbourg

It located in east side of France, whcih is close to the border with Germany। It's about 2.5 hrs by train from Frankfrant.

Richard Wilson

He is one of my favour's best installation artist।

[intro from Wikipedia]

Richard Wilson (1953) is a British installation artist.Wilson was born in London and studied at Hornsey College of Art and the University of Reading. He was short-listed for the Turner Prize in 1988 (when Tony Cragg won) and 1989 (when Richard Long won).Wilson often works on an architectural scale, often changing large spaces in some dramatic way. One of his best known pieces, 20:50 (1987), consists of a room half-flooded with used sump oil in which the ceiling of the space is reflected, producing a disorienting effect. 20:50 was commissioned for Matts Gallery in East London and was brought by Charles Saatchi and has been re-installed in a variety of formations at the Saatchi Gallery.Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wilson_%28installation_artist%29"
